On Day 2 Vagator, Goa transformed into a veritable wonderland for bikers – with some of the biggest names in bike design and manufacture, the rare bikes in cavalcades, shopping & accessories to die for, music, barbecues and beer, training academies, racing tracks and much, much more. The mega event for Day 2 continued in the five designated areas – the Main Stage, Howling Dog Bar, The Big Trip, The Ladakh Tent and The Club Village & Stunt Zone, in addition to allied events all over the area. Some of the standout events on Day 2 included the Brotherhood Parade, a crash course by biking gurus on making a career in Motorsports and several key Meet ups. Rok Bagaros continued to thrill and Six Time World Enduro record holder Giovanni Sala had a special town hall with enchanted and eager bikers about this multiple World Records.
Brotherhood Parade Led by Vloggers, Bike builders, Clubs, Collectors, Helmets for India and brand rides from Triumph and Honda Big Wings was a treat for both the riders who followed and the viewers of the cavalcade. The Special parade was by Sea Riders from Goa Region Navy, who recently concluded the North East and Coastal rides. Present were Rear Admiral Philipose G Pynumootil, Nau Sena medal, Flag Officer, Goa Naval Area with his Sea Riders. NIELS PETER JENSEN, the initiator for Helmets for India, an essential project, highlighting the importance of a wearing simple item of protective gear that will save thousands of lives. The initiative fuelled by artists and motorcyclists from all over the world. The Brotherhood parade truly is a showcase of how India Bike Week is a gala for the biggest bonding of the community in Asia.
Key spokesperson Day 2 The leaders of the tribe always stay ahead of the rest. But occasionally, these mortals take a breather, and let us in on their secrets! The best of the best from the motorcycle community took a break from their wild journeys to share their tales of grit, dirt and endurance from the road. Candida Louis, Pankaj Trivedi, Ashish Rao Rane and Debu & DJ (from One World One Ride) were some of the key speakers on Day 2 who spoke extensively about their travels, their passion for their machines and inspired several bikers to travel beyond their wildest dreams!
Rok Bagaros Rok Bagaros judged the final Stunt Winner and himself battled with the winner to showcase some of the best biking stunts to cheering crowds for the second day in a row at the IBW 2019.
Iron Built India’s famous Bike Builders – Rezza Hussain, Vijay Singh, Adil Dumasia, Leroy, Arjun Raina, Aditya Deshmukh and Kyle Pereira some of the finest metal craftsmen of the land showcased their craft. On display were some of the most stunning custom-built and classic motorbikes. Truly their gurus displayed machines worth worshiping upon the altar, for everyone to see.
Innovation Class The world presents new technology in biking every year! But what stopped you from exploring and bring out the full potential of your machines? At Day 2 of India Bike Week innovators and makers across India came together to bring in some of rawest innovations on display – challenging some of the best known technologies in biking available globally.
Career in Motorsports Some of the most talented motorsports riders in the country like Ashish Rao Rane, Simran King, Aishwarya Pissay, Rajni Krishnan came together at #IBW2019 to share insights on the world of motorsports and also shed some light on how people can take it up as a career that was well within the reach of everyone.
Collectors Corner
The collectors corner saw some of the passionate bike collectors display bikes from their favorite collection. Swaran Bajaj, director, Punjab Sindh Dairy Products, whose bike collection includes Victory Vision (Only one in India), Yamaha Midnight Warrior, BMW Grand America, Indian Roadmaster Elite etc. displayed some of his rarest bikes. Hafez Contractor displayed his favorites amongst his 60+ vintage bikes that he has officially restored for the past 20 years. Jehangir Faroogh who is known for collecting vintage bikes and owns AJS H7 1927 and overhead valve racing machine, BSA B31, BSA M 21 – 600cc, Norton ES2, Royal Enfield Mini Meteor 1952, to name a few, exhibited some of his collection.
The MOD Bike Display and the Bike Build Off continued into Day 2 that saw display from Wheel Vedas who designed their first motorbike called Moksha, Maratha Motorcycles who have been building unique choppers since 2014, JD Customs Co. whose passion for building one of a kind unique motorcycles has lead to the birth of Vadodara based custom bike manufacturing unit and others.
Winners at India Bike Week
The Harley-Davidson flat track saw some amazing participations this year and gave away cash prize worth One Lakh Rupees. The Hill climb saw Neils Peters (Helmets For India) win the track days by setting the fastest record of 21.55 seconds followed by Mahesh Chowghule (21.8s) and Abrar Bin Ayub (22.22s)! IBW Honour Roll award was bagged by Rajini Krishnan for his decades long stardom in motor sports.
The very successful India Bike Week 2019 culminated with music that celebrated moto-culture. Day 2 saw bikers rave to riveting bass lines, face-melting guitar solos, power-packed drums and soaring vocals through a stellar line-up of artists at #IBW2019 like DJ Sureal ft Dr. Zoo, DJ Ritviz who got the entire bikers crowd raving to his beats!
