Mahindra Mojo 300 ABS BS6 – 1st Impressions

Riding down the city roads is always home ground when on the Mahindra Mojo. The responsive yet sophisticated throttle is handed down to this generation from BSIV. Adding to the fervor are the brakes, The Bybre’s bite into the road with the ABS system keeping you from swerving off your course. The riding stance is without a doubt a constant.

Much has been said in terms of these online. Nevertheless, the MRF zappers are a personal favorite here. The ride in question involved highways, city and a dash of soft-roading. They carry a different aura altogether and offer a superior riding experience.

Apart from cost and look, the absence of the USDs make the Mojo a bit leaner. The telescopic forks with the brace inspires a lot of confidence.. Coupled with a 110 biased tyre be it stock or aftermarket, you do not really missed the premium Rossos. Indeed at low speeds the steering feels heavy, once to start carving corners that feel will disappear in time. Nevertheless it keeps the Mojo steadfast steady.

The Bybre’s do offer adequate bite and instill confidence when the ABS kicks in on the Mahindra Mojo 300 ABS BS6. Although not sintered they offer as better stopping power than most some its comrades in its class.

Seating – Mahindra Mojo 300 ABS BS6

Let’s play the Easter egg game here. The option for front risers and handlebar risers allow for a taller motorcycle, no? However, where almost all major manufacturers gave up the chase Team Mahindra picked up the scent. For all good reason a touring motorcycle is “Rider Comfortable”. What about the pillion? Contrary to critics, to re-iterate this is where MTWL scored.

They made the pillion seat as much comfortable on the Mahindra Mojo 300 ABS BS6, here’s why:

To sum it up, you can go play in the hills with the boys, come back and in the evening take your lady out on a date. Unless, you missed a spot while washing the bike she won’t notice the underpinnings stashed with memoirs of the morning’s adventure.

Power Figures – To Torque it off!

Well everybody talks Bhp and Torque. Certainly, direct comparison cannot be made here. However, the BS6 motorcycle takes the baton of the bulletproof engine over rather well. The Mahindra Mojo still cruises along the highway seamlessly. Like we said the figures are deceiving. What seems rather meak on paper, when to hammer that throttle on a straight it feels like the raw punch of the UT 300 coupled with the linear power delivery of the XT300. Also the fuel gauge took a tadbit longer to drop than the BS4

We can attribute this to:

Now let’s talk about Torque. Generally, there’s little room to feel the torque out. The media unit is barely 3500 odd kilometers old. In human terms this baby hasn’t started walking yet. Certainly at low speeds a steady throttle is required. Surprisingly it seems to handle off-road climbs better than the BS4.(well that can be disputable for now).

VERDICT

The 2020 Mahindra Mojo 300 ABS BS6 is quite a package with its handling and other dynamics. Also, the MRF tyres although never fail to disappoint, more tread patterns can be offered. The twin pod headlamps are brighter than ever before and the yellow beams add that nostalgia in today’s world of white LED lighting. First impressions have certainly left us planning to dent our wallet with full tank refills of fuel.

After all too much is never enough…
