I am..

Hey everyone, I’m Mansi Thakkar! At 19, I’m probably one of India’s youngest female owners of the Apache RTR 160 4V SPECIAL EDITION BLACK MATTE – it’s a total head-turner! Juggling work and studies is no easy feat, but I love the challenge. By day, I’m a Sales Executive at Century TVS Wakdewadi, where I get to meet amazing people and help them find their perfect ride. Evenings are dedicated to hitting the books for my Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree. It’s a whirlwind, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!

My association with riding began when ..

It all began when I was 12 years old, I went out with my family to Lonavala. There I saw a group of riders completely geared and riding in sync and unison. From that day itself I was motivated to learn to ride a motorcycle. So, as I grew it was time for me to purchase a new vehicle after 2 years of riding Honda Activa. My family recommended that I purchase an electric vehicle. However, I made my mind up that it will be a motorcycle or nothing. While I didn’t know to ride a motorcycle properly at the time i decided to purchase it and perfect the art with time. Finally, i convinced my family and got one and then learned to ride it .

My previous rides were..

Prior to the apache I had an activa 3G scooter which I used for about 2 years.

My options were ..

While doin my research had come across 3 motorcycles that best suited my budget and riding needs. One being the Apache RTR 160 4V SPECIAL EDITION BLACK MATTE which was available at that time. The other 2 were:

  1. Yamaha MT 15
  2. Bajaj Pulsar N160

The MT15 because 2 of my friends already owned it and the reviews I got from them was good and genuine. Be it the power, the mileage or the look for that matter everything was spot on. However, what didn’t work for me was the exhaust note. The exhaust sound is something that attracts me the most, so i dropped the plan of getting mt15.

While the Bajaj Pulsar N160 was also a good option it fell short on a few things. This motorcycle was recommended by my friends as a second option, since the latest model of the MT15 wasn’t available for a test ride. Overall, the bike is ok , but again it was the exhaust note that I was looking for.

While when i was looking for apache i was quite satisfied with exhaust sound and along with it, it was quite attractive the colours, the performance, riding modes , with  Overall i was quite satisfied and decided to get Apache rtr 160 4v black matte

I chose the Apache RTR 160 4V SPECIAL EDITION BLACK MATTE because …

I chose the Apache RTR 160 4V SPECIAL EDITION BLACK MATTE as my first motorcycle because:

  • I was looking for a budget friendly bike
  • One that offer with good performance but not too much for a beginner.
  • At the time of purchase, the Apache RTR 160 4V was most powerful in its segment
  • With 3 riding modes with beautiful black matte colour i got attracted there.
  • Given my height the 180mm ground clearance and with adjustable rear suspension worked to my favor as well.
  • Also, as a plus the exhaust sounds best in the segment.

The number of kilometres clocked so far on the Apache RTR 160 4V SPECIAL EDITION BLACK MATTE –

12,000+ kilometres

My most memorable rides on the current motorcycle.

My most memorable ride with the Apache RTR 160 4V was was when I went to mahabaleshwar. Our meetup point of every ride is Dagdusheth Temple. On the day of the ride we planned to meet at 4 am at Dagdusheth Temple. We were a group of 11 riders , left Dagdusheth at 4:15am and we were at the location at 6:30am. We rode for around 120 kilometres from Pune to our destination in Mahabaleshwar. The sitting posture of the Apache RTR 160 4V ride is as comfortable as  it gets. Adding to the comfort on the ride was the scenery. Riding through that blanket of fog while enjoying the view on the way made my ride unforgettable. Also, we felt we were in the clouds when we reached the location the view is something I am looking forward to very soon. After that, We decided to go Tapola also known as Mini Kashmir, about thirty kilometres from Mahabaleshwar city centre. Welcoming us was an unforgettably gorgeous lakeside view while we had our breakfast. We were back in Pune by 2pm as most of us had to get to work. But the view, our unity, the bike’s comfort and performance made my ride the most memorable one!

I would recommend/ Not recommend that girls/ ladies buy the Apache RTR 160 4V SPECIAL EDITION BLACK MATTE because
