Pune Offroad Expedition 2021: The 8th Edition “Because we are 8”
November 9, 20218Moto invites you to the 8th edition of the most awaited event of the year – Pune Offroad Expedition 2021.
The motoring community has come up with ways to organize the event with respect to all safety norms. At the same time being vigilant about the situation we live in. Pune off-road Expedition will be organized with utmost precautions and by maintaining all safety measures.
Pune Off-road Expedition 2020 – The survival edition
Last year’s event led by one of Pune’s finest motorcyclist Varad More. The event had a restricted number as compared to 2019 where over 350+ motorcycle and scooter enthusiasts took part. Also, there were comparatively lesser 4×4 vehicles. This included the current generation SUV’s too.
This time around the jeeps dominated the number of 4×4 vehicles. Here the KTM 390 Adventure made its debut. A mix of novice & expert level riders added a different flavor. Interestingly, the Pune Off-road Expedition 2019 had over 300 visitors. However, given the situation 2020 edition was restricted to participants.
Pune Offroad Expedition 2021 – What to expect
This year with most curbs being lifted a higher turnout is expected to join in. Pune Offroad Expedition 2021 this year brings in two new additions to the existing format:
- Hill climb event – While we currently do not have information, basis our coverage from past events this will be an all new event. Ideally dedicated to putting man and machine to the test of inclines
- Overnight Camping – A much awaited option, overnight camping indeed is a great opportunity for motoring enthusiasts to connect and bond over anecdotes and camp fire.
Year after year the event has grown with participants coming from far and wide. Not just from the home city Pune or from Mumbai, POE has seen a large turnout from other cities in Maharashtra. Also, automotive enthusiasts from other states have joined including:
- GOA
- Karnataka
- Telangana
- Andhra Pradesh etc.
Additionally, not just the novice or expert motorcyclists join in. The Pune Offroad Expedition also sees participants from these communes too:
- Motocross Athletes
- Automotive journalists
- Professional precision motorcyclists
- Customized / modified motorcycle enthusiasts
Thus, suffice to say that POE is not a competitive event nor a rev fest of sorts. It is day where automotive enthusiasts have a fun weekend with their machines & their mates both old and new.
Pune Offroad Expedition 2021 – Details:
In order to qualify for the event all participants are requested to wear necessary safety gear like:
- Certified full-face Helmet
- Gloves
- Riding Jacket / Armour
- Riding Pants
- Knee & Elbow Pads
- Ankle length Boots
The Details:
Time: 0900 hours to 1700 hours
Date: 13th and 14th November 2021
Participation Fees: 1500/- per participant
Camping : 500 /- per head (Tent in twin sharing )
Fees include:
- COVID kit (hand sanitizer, mask)
- Refreshments
- Lunch
- Participation Certificate
- Medical backup
- Event Merchandise
